Meet at 8:45 AM sharp at the parking lot on Rt 106 that you can find at “Big Hill and Jackie Jones Mountain Trail” in Stony Point, NY; the parking space is on both sides of the road. GPS Coordinates: 41.22978, -74.06042. We start at 9:00 AM sharp going south on the S-BM Trail to the Third Reservoir. We continue on S-BM until Woodtown Road where we make a left. We pass the Second and First Reservoirs, meet the Old Turnpike Road, and make a left here. We pass the Long Path and meet the S-BM where we make a right to the parking lot. Lunch by Second Reservoir, at approximately the 4.6-mile mark or 11:30 AM. Black Rock Forest

Ramapo Dunderberg Trail Maintenance

8:30 AM – Silvermine parking lot, we will then shuttle to Tiorati Circle parking lot, off Seven Lakes Drive (GPS Coordinates 41.29531, -74.05958). Time to give back to the trails we love. The NJR ADK Chapter is responsible for maintaining sections of the Ramapo Dunderberg Trail -Tiorati circle to the Brien Memorial shelter. We will hike the RD Trail from Tiorati Circle to the Brien Memorial Shelter. We will check/replace Trail blazes, clip and clear small blow-downs and brush that is impeding the Trail, and collect any trash along the way. We will stop at the Brien Memorial shelter for lunch, then hike down the Menomine Trail to the Silvermine parking lot. I will supply tools, trash bags, and Trail blazes. You should bring a pair of work gloves, and if you have a pair of garden clippers/shears please bring them. Pack a lunch/snack, water and normal hiking items. Boston Mine – Valley of Boulders

We will start at 9:00 AM sharp going north on the White Bar to the Nurian then left on the Ramapo-Dunderberg to the Lichen, then left on the A-SB then left on the White Bar and right on the Dunning around Green Pond then left on Nurian to the Valley of Boulders and then back on Nurian, Island Pond Road, and White Bar to the parking lot. Highlights: Black Rock, Black Rock Mountain 1481 ft, Bald Rocks Shelter, Valley of Boulders, Boston Mine. Lunch at Valley of Boulders at 11:45 AM or the 5.1-mile mark. This hike is strenuous. Tourne and Birchwood Lake Loop

The Hook

Cats Elbow

This is a moderate to slightly strenuous loop hike, which has a rock scramble, this hike has some of the best views in Northern Harriman/Bear Mountain Park, volcanic ledges and a Trail shelter. We will hike on the following trails: Horn Bike Path, Appalachian Trail, Timp-Torne Trail, and the Ramapo Dunderberg Trail. Pack a lunch/snack, water and normal hiking items. Peanut Leap, Giant Steps, Women’s Federation Monument

9:30 AM at State Line Lookout parking lot in Alpine NJ (https://maps.app.goo.gl/tLe5pDPQG3cH28vS6). Parking fee is required. A beautiful hike in the Palisades Interstate Park. We will hike old Rt 9W to the long path down to the stunning Peanut Leap Cascade waterfall. We will then travel along the shore Trail of the Hudson until we hit the giant steps rock scramble (an approximately 1.2-mile-long horizontal rock scramble over boulders). Midway on this scramble there is a nice spot to stop to have lunch. Afterwards we will climb back up to the top of the palisades cliffs to see the Women’s Federation Monument. After that it’s a short turn back to the parking lot along the entry road. Hawk Cliff and Panther Mountain Loop

We start at 9:00 AM going to the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail on E Village Road; from the parking, go under the Thruway under pass to Grove Drive North. We continue on the Ramapo-Dunderberg for about 0.6 miles and 0.75 miles to the Tri-Trail Corner and 0.96 miles to the White Bar Trail going south for about 0.5 miles to Victory Trail (left) to Triangle Trail where we make a right. We take the White Bar Trail on our left to T-MI Trail making a right here. We pass Claudius Smith Den, continue on Tuxedo-Mt. Ivy and make a left on the Ramapo-Dunderberg to the parking lot. Highlights: Black Ash Mine, Tri-Trail Corner, Claudius Smith Den, Dutch Doctor Shelter. Lunch: Around 5 miles out. This hike is moderate to strenuous. Severe inclement weather cancels.
